Products can be disposed of at no charge.  It’s a free service offered by Stearns County’s Environmental Services Department.

Items that cannot be accepted through the Household Hazardous Waste Program include: used motor oil, antifreeze, explosives, furniture, household garbage, tires, medical waste, appliances or any other unknown products.  Also not accepted is business waste.  These collections are designed to collect home, not business, products.

Last year the mobile collection unit took in 4,400 Gallons of Latex Paint, 3,465 Gallons of Oil Based Paint, 1,705 Gallons of Fuels & Solvent, 2,181 Pounds of Acids & Bases, 4,376 Pounds of Pesticides & Herbicides, 3,168 Pounds of Aerosols, 5.3 Tons of adhesives, epoxy’s & tars and 14,862 Fluorescent Bulbs.

For those who cannot make one of the scheduled mobile collection times, the Tri-County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 601 N. 20th Ave. in St. Cloud accepts products year-round.  Click here to get hours of operation. Please use this valuable resource and dispose of your hazardous waste properly, Thank you, Steve
